Hex Trust Announces New Appointments to Advisory Board

February 14, 2024

Hong Kong, 14 February, 2024 - Hex Trust, the leading institutional-grade digital asset custodian licensed and insured across global financial hubs, is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Dimitrios Kavvathas and Marty Jetton to its Advisory Board. Their extensive senior-level expertise in finance and investment in key regions will help accelerate Hex Trust’s vision to secure and advance the permissionless future of digital assets.

Dr. Kavvathas, a distinguished business leader with a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago, brings more than 20 years’ extensive experience in global financial markets. Notably, he spent 12 years as a Managing Director and Partner at Goldman Sachs in London, before relocating to Hong Kong in 2009 where he co-headed the Asia Pacific Securities Division Distribution and served on the board of Goldman Sachs, Asia ( LLC ) and various global committees, including the New Activities Committee and the Securities Division Business Standards Committee. Dr. Kavvathas has held senior positions at VTB Capital, Noble Group, Amber Group, and Harmony Advisors Ltd, among others serving as the Chief Strategy Officer of Amber Group and the CIO of Harmony Advisors Ltd. Dimitrios is the founder of Ithaca, a non-custodial, composable option protocol.

“Dimitrios' extensive expertise in Corporate Finance, Digital Assets, and Investment Strategy makes him a valuable addition to the team. We expect his influence to significantly contribute to the success of Hex Trust as the organization expands its range of activities and strengthens its global presence,” said Colin Brooks, Chairman of Hex Trust’s Advisory Board.

"I am thrilled to join Hex Trust’s advisory board. I have full confidence in the business' vision and am eager to contribute to their expansion efforts. Hex Trust's position as a top digital asset custodian, evident from its client base and licensed framework, is inspiring, and I am delighted to be part of this journey,” said Dr. Kavvathas, Member of the Advisory Board of Hex Trust.

We are also pleased to announce that Marty Jetton, a veteran in traditional finance, custody, and blockchain, transitions to the Advisory Board from his role as Chief Network Officer and previously COO at Hex Trust.  Marty's extensive experience has been marked by building and managing risk management teams across Asia for JPMorgan group and Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. His experience includes operational integration, regulatory facilitation, and corporate governance across various Asian markets. Marty’s expertise in navigating the complexities of traditional and digital asset custody and capital markets, combined with his vision for the future of digital asset security and blockchain technology, further cements the strength of expertise across Hex Trust’s Advisory Board.

Reflecting on his new role, Marty said, “Joining the Advisory Board is a natural progression in my journey with Hex Trust. The opportunity to further influence and shape the future of digital asset custody and management is incredibly exciting. Clearly leveraging the technological advantage that Blockchain can bring in managing risk, whilst not losing sight of the traditional risk elements consistently inherent in these innovative products, is challenging though rewarding, and I look forward to contributing towards Hex Trust’s continued innovation and success in the digital asset space.”

Colin Brooks, Chairman of Hex Trust’s Advisory Board commented that "retaining Marty's experience and risk management insights on the Advisory Board will continue to help guide Hex Trust through the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead of us".
