The TOKEN2049 conference in Singapore marked the official reopening of the crypto community across Asia to the rest of the world. The event was attended by over 7000 visitors and 2000 companies, with a large number of participants flying in from outside APAC to connect and collaborate with leaders in the digital assets, metaverse, and web3 space.
Hex Trust was a proud title sponsor of the flagship event, with a booth located front and center of the conference. As a fully licensed digital asset custodian based in Singapore, this provided the ideal platform to connect with institutional players, digital asset companies, DeFi projects, corporations, developers, and investors from across the world. Many visitors were eager to learn more about our core offerings through Hex Safe, and the infrastructure we are building to provide greater connectivity to the decentralized economy across chains and deep into the metaverse.
On Day 2 of the conference, our CEO Alessio Quaglini took to the mainstage to discuss how Hex Trust is helping Web2 companies enter the Web3 era and further the mainstream adoption of digital assets.
Digital asset custodians have evolved significantly over the past decade to meet the needs of today’s market and accelerate institutional adoption globally. As firms like Hex Trust built solutions to address the core custody challenges from a technology and operations perspective, new needs and requirements have to be addressed as we move into the next phase of digital asset custody.
As we move into the real uses cases for blockchain technology, beyond the secure storage of digital assets and into actual usage, custodians need to offer solutions that make the assets available for everyday use while upholding safety and security. Making it both easier and safer to manage digital assets is how we get to a billion users active in the decentralized economy across GameFi and metaverse applications.
The fastest growing sector in Web3 is blockchain gaming, with billions of gamers worldwide who will now be able to truly own in-game assets, and more importantly their digital identity and legacy on the blockchain. In a joint venture with Animoca Brands, we have created Gryfyn which is an NFT-centric wallet built to deliver a smoother and easier experience for managing personal digital assets in Web3. Gryfyn will be embedded across native Web3 applications as the preferred way to own and manage your digital identity.
Rounding up the panel, Alessio shared: “If you want the alpha, everything we have been building over the last few years is all coming together. Use cases and applications across DeFi, stablecoins, STOs, NFTs, and now GameFi are all improving in terms of performance, connectivity, and user experience. The user base is growing and there is actual adoption. People are finally using the blockchain for something. This means we will likely see CeFi lose market share when compared to what is being offered in the DeFi space.”
